Apolo is an exciting early-mid season Berry Blue variety, originally selected in Virquenco, Chile, and well-suited for regions requiring 500-700 chilling hours. This variety is highly productive and vigorous. To manage its spreading habit, practices such as additional tipping in the first year or trellising are strongly encouraged. Apolo’s fruit is very large, heavy, and darker medium blue in color. The berries are firm, sweet, and juicy, with low acidity. They also have a small, dry picking scar and are well-suited for the fresh market due to their exceptional eating quality.
First trials of Apolo in the USA were planted in spring 2025 across key growing regions in Florida and Georgia.
